Within moments of ‘Stay Alive’ starting, there’ll be a lot of people making instant mental comparisons to The Weeknd and Bruno Mars. This is the pedigree that emerging artist Jaq Moon is bearing on his shoulders. Luckily, he’s doing himself justice and holding that weight with his super-contemporary brand of urban-pop.

One thing that sets Jaq Moon apart from the madding crowd with ‘Stay Alive’, is the catchy rock-guitar led hook that permeates the track. It provides an alternative, yet fitting base for Jaq Moon’s memorable lyricism that you’ll be humming in your head for many hours after.

Having been constantly moved around during his childhood, Jaq Moon was exposed to a number of musical styles which has clearly formed part of his eclectic and original urban sound.

Taken from his upcoming Dark Matter EP, ‘Stay Alive’ was inspired by the life-changing moment when he heard that his Father had been found unconscious at home, due to kidney failure. Jaq Moon grew up without his Father, but a recent reconciliation between the two has formed a close relationship that the young musician has no intention of ending.
